Back To Map

Description

PRAXIBAT is a complete training device concerning energy efficiency construction technics. It aims at increasing the skills of craft workers, construction apprentices, trainees from “Les Compagnons du Devoir”, VTCs’ apprentices, students in professional high schools, architects, job-seekers and construction trainers. In each region of France, the ADEME funded the implementation of PRAXIBAT energy platforms for the 5 following training modules:
- High-performance insulation;
- High-performance ventilation;
- High-performance lighting;
- High-performance heating;
- High-performance hot water production.

Partners

Promoter: ADEME

Aim

Increase construction workers’ skills in energy efficiency construction techniques through training modules.

Outcomes

Impacts/Outcomes 1:
113 energy platforms implemented in France.
Impacts/Outcomes 2:
516 energy platforms’ trainers available in France.

Policy/Initiative

Skills Gaps:
Anticipation of the evolution of construction companies’ skills needs concerning energy efficiency new construction technics.
Mis-Matching of Skills:
Possibility for construction companies to update their construction workers’ skills on energy efficiency through the training modules.
Skills Shortages:
New construction learners are trained to these new construction technics on energy efficiency, reducing the skills shortage in this field.

Recommendations

Training:
The concrete application of these new techniques represents 60% if the training duration.
Career Moves:
Construction workers, by increasing their skills on energy efficiency through these training modules, can pretend to a promotion, or a least a gain of responsibilities.
Transfer in Europe:
The modularisation allows the integration of the PRAXIBAT modules within preexisting long-term training courses.
