Denmark: Boss Ladies project

Since 2018, Boss Ladies has motivated young women to pursue the massively male-dominated vocational STEM-educations and thereby challenged the historically gendered stereotypes, currently placing Denmark among the most gender segregated labour markets. Centred around an ambassador corps of more than 200 nationwide female builders and craftswomen, Boss Ladies constitutes an unique unity of women sharing their passion and experiences within the sector. Thereby the empowered community of Boss Ladies is the core of each project activity, which works within a continuum of individual and structural change. These includes:

  • Eye-opening workshops coining gender and diversity in relation to educational choices targeting (female) school students, teachers, and supervisors
  • Systemic bias training and in-depth diversity initiatives anchoring cultural and structural change at a broad range of TVET-institutions
  • A broad change alliance with social partners, workers associations and enterprises
  • Continuous agenda-setting in media and social media
