Open days

Each year, Centre IFAPME LHV organises an open day. High school students are invited to discover our facilities and training programmes. Often, demonstrations are organised thanks to the presence of our partner Constructiv. Young people can ask questions about their future profession. Several of our trainers are present.

Construction trades discovery day

This is an afternoon of visits to the workshops where young people and adults interested in our training courses can learn about various construction trades (e.g. cabinetmaker, refrigeration engineer, bricklayer, plasterer, electrical fitter etc.).

  • Presentation of digital tools related to construction training
  • Presentation of EPB models
  • Presentation of portfolio/book

A trainer or referent will be present in each workshop to explain the trade, the training and to answer all your questions.

The talent challenge

Testing different technical professions for a day is the mission of the Talent Challenge. More than 400 secondary students compete in a friendly competition. On the programme, some twenty challenges, including several related to construction, each lasting about fifteen minutes. Each challenge won allows the students to accumulate points for the school, but above all, it awakens their interest in technical professions.

Throughout the day, the young people are surrounded by professionals from many sectors. They have the opportunity to explain their job, their daily life, but also to put them to the test. This guidance project has several objectives: to offer a wide range of technical professions, and to stimulate the pupils’ reflection on their choice of option, or even training or career.
