Description

Competence centers for HR development represent an important investment and an incentive for employers to use training as a strategic tool

We have some public funds available for financing some focused activities on this. FOR EXAMPLE Every few years there are funds available for new Competence Centers for Human Resource Development (KOC) which has limited duration (2-3 years). It is funded from EU Cohesian funds (Projects 2014 – 2020). Funds are being distributed for new emerged Competence Centers for Human Resource Development (ca. 10 projects) via Public Scholarship, Development, Disability and Maintenance Fund of the Republic of Slovenia. This institution is the central national management institution for scholarships and development of human resources and offers scholarships for study and research, increases international mobility of students and researchers, provides financial incentives to employers for development of human resources, awards excellence as well as provides up-to-date information and helps build a network for minimising obstacles to mobility of students, researchers and employees.

MORE ABOUT THIS INITIATIVE:
“The Ministry of Labor, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities supported the integration of Slovenian companies into partnerships for human resources development through the European Social Fund, which already enabled investment in human resources and positive business results. The main activity that will be available to the companies involved is training, but they can gain much more than that.-
How is the program going?
With the help of European funds, companies active in a particular industry or in the area of operation of the Smart Specialization Strategy connect and gain the opportunity to train employees according to the needs of the company. With the help of experts, a competency model is prepared, where the greatest deficits are found, and a training plan for employees is prepared. The training office and the interests of individual partnership companies will be handled by the partnership office project.
What are Competency Centers?
Competence centers for HR development represent an important investment and an incentive for employers to use training as a strategic tool. In this way, industries, value chains and other forms of integration (eg with Strategic Development Innovation Partnerships) in Slovenia are linked.
The project shares knowledge with in-house training, conducts group and individual training. Companies will receive from co-financing from 50% - 70% of the funds for training, and the activities of the project office will be fully supported. The total amount of funding per partnership will be between € 250,000 and € 400,000.

Aim

To support companies networking on upskilling the workforce.

Competence Centers are partnerships between companies and other organizations within an industry. The main purpose of the networking is to increase the skills of the already employed employees in the industry, to acquire new competences for improving the competitiveness of employees, companies and industries in the market, and the cooperation of Slovenian companies within the industry in this field. Within competence centers, competency models are created that include multiple competence profiles for selected jobs, which are crucial for each competence center.
