Description

The project aims at developing the common European “Construction Site Technician” qualification that responds to innovative inputs within construction sector, such as digitalization, energy retrofitting, environmental sustainability and urban regeneration.

Aim

The main aim is to develop a combined qualification of “Construction Site Technician”, which refers to a multi-purpose technical profile being able to: manage the construction site activities, coordinate the construction and/or refurbishment process, follow the works planning, management and control, while optimizing the human resources involved. The resulting technical professional is capable of: performing analysis of the maintenance requirements, planning the activities aimed at improving the built environment and at guaranteeing energy efficiency; using methods of buildings life cycle management starting from the project, through Building Information Modeling – BIM.

Outcomes

Impacts/Outcomes 1:
In-depth analysis including:
• a building sector with a shortage of skilled labour;
• the need for competences and skills not met by the public education and training system.

Guidelines for improving/implementing the innovative aspects relating to common qualification of „Construction Site Technician“

Introduction of specific training for the Construction site technician.

Skills Gaps:
Innovative processing sectors are emerging that require new competences such as:
• energy efficiency, digital competences, addressing new types of possible accidents deriving from new processes;
• greater need for transversal/behavioural competences.

• Updating the professional training and employment policies
• Setting up a forum for valorisation and more effective use of the European tools for qualification transparency
