The European Commission’s Health & Safety Blueprint tender, developed by Fundación Laboral de la Construcción, has launched the free online training action which consists of three sections, with eight modules: Materials (Insulation and Sealing, Finishing, Bituminous and Sustainable), Operations (Insulation, Inverted Green Roofs and Renewable Energy Systems) and Waste (Waste Management).
If you want to update your knowledge in health and safety, applied to the new ‘green’ jobs, learn autonomously and self-evaluation, you have a unique opportunity, free and online. The Health & Safety Blueprint self-training is now available for anyone interested in updating their knowledge in health and safety, with updated contents of the professional profiles for ‘green’ jobs, endorsed by the European Commission.
After observing the shortcomings in Health and Safety training and their negative impact on the European Union (EU) construction sector. The European Commission, in cooperation with the European Innovation Council and Small & Medium-sized Enterprises Executive Agency (EISMEA), decided to develop a strategic framework to improve health and safety construction training, called the Health & Safety Construction Blueprint.
The project has been an essential part of the Construction Blueprint project, “Strategic approach to professional competences in the construction industry”, which is led by Fundación Laboral de la Construcción.
The Health & Safety Blueprint tender, which was commissioned by the Commission in 2018 to the entity, aimed to address the training gap in energy efficiency and sustainable materials. The project was developed with the collaboration of relevant actors from twelve countries involved in the Construction Blueprint project (Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain and Finland).
H&S Blueprint
To this end, the project developed several modules that will help to address health and safety issues of the most common materials and operations, without forgetting the major risks or lesser known issues.
With this in mind, a total of 8 modules were created, distributed under 3 sections:
- Section 1: Materials
- Insulation and Sealing materials.
- Finishing materials.
- Bituminous materials.
- Sustainable materials.
- Section 2: Operations
- Insulation operations.
- Inverted Green Roofs.
- Renewable Energy Systems.
- Section 3: Waste
- Waste management.
During the summer and autumn of 2020, almost 200 people took the pilot courses Health & Safety Blueprint, a practical experience to improve this free and open self-training.
