On September 20th, 2022, the FFB and the CCCA-BTP organised, in Paris at the FFB, a seminar entitled “Skills in construction companies: how to adapt and respond to the challenges of the circular economy, energy efficiency/carbon emission reduction and digital technology”. This endorsement event of the European Construction Blueprint project gathered various stakeholders of the French construction sector, in workshops and a dissemination conference.

As part of the Construction Blueprint project, the FFB and the CCCA-BTP organised an endorsement event on September 20th, gathering around 60 participants, with two main purposes: to ensure the dissemination of the Blueprint works and outcomes, and to discuss about the actions to undertake at the national level to upgrade skills in construction companies.

This seminar started with three workshops, bringing together experts and partners from the construction sector and vocational training to discuss about skills in energy efficiency, circular economy and digitalisation.

The workshops were then followed by a conference, which started with a presentation of the European project “Construction Blueprint” and the online participation of Domenico Campogrande, director general of FIEC, explaining the European approach and prospects. Afterwards, three round tables were displayed, each respectively focusing on: energy efficiency and reduction of carbon emissions, circular economy and digitalisation. The participants discussed actions and collaborations to develop to meet the skills needs of construction companies in relation to the challenges of the ecological and digital transitions. These discussions were based on the work of the workshops.

The conference ended with the keynote speech of Mr. Bruno Lucas, General Delegate for Employment and Vocational Training (DGEFP) on the French government’s approach and the conclusion of Mr. Christophe Possémé, President of the CCCA-BTP and member of the FFB’s Executive Committee. At this occasion, he officially announced the decision of the FFB to join the “Pact for skills in Construction”, in the continuity of its partnership in Construction Blueprint.
